Contract deadlines aren't all the same kind of deadline
Some deadlines are once-and-done: a notice date, a final acceptance window. Others are recurring: a quarterly report, an annual certificate, a monthly payment. And some are conditional: a deadline that only matters if a particular event happens (a milestone is missed, a credit is triggered, a counterparty exercises an option). Treating all three the same way is why most calendar-based reminder systems fail. Useful deadline software distinguishes between scheduled, recurring, and conditional deadlines and assigns ownership accordingly — the owner for a recurring report isn't the same as the owner for a one-time renewal decision.
What gets missed when deadlines aren't anchored to clauses
